Several bus services operate regularly between the airport and cairns city centre. The airporter service stops at major hotels in the city. Taxis are also available (typical fare to the hotel 15 aud). Most of the major attractions in cairns can be reached on foot. The cairns public bus service connects the suburbs, the beaches and the city. Taxis are readily available at taxi ranks, and can also be hailed in the street. A car is recommended for travelling beyond the city.
